Pakistan Railways (reporting mark PR) , formerly also known as the Pakistan Western Railway (reporting mark PWR) between 1947 to 1974, is the a national state-owned railway company of Pakistan.
Founded in 1886 and headquartered in Lahore,
It owns approximately 4,800 miles (7,791 km) of track all across Pakistan, stretching from Torkham to Karachi.
Pakistan Railways was facing huge loss since start of 21st Century. Government was in process of privatizing railways.
In the recent years, Pakistan Railways has progressed and it loss was decreased.
